Go Toronto Go! We'll be sure to watch!
Very Cool!
I have received many emails in support of the Leafs honouring our troops. :) I have also forwarded an email to Richard Peddie thanking him and his team and wishing them well on our behalf. Way to go Leafs!
Thanks for the heads up.
I watched the program, and was in tears due to the support it shows for our soldiers.
Our soldiers have spent many years toiling in the dark, feeling little or no support from many Canadians.
My immediate reaction to the tribute was "Thank You" and "Its about time".
Thank you to the Toronto Maple Leafs for their support....however, was it me or did they not mention the biggest Military Base in Ontario - CFB Petawawa, where there are currently hundreds of deployed soldiers serving in Afghanistan??
On January 30, it is Military Appreciation Night at the Scotia Bank Place in Ottawa as the Senators take on the Washington Capitals. There are 250 tickets for families of current deployed members to enjoy a nice evening out....
I glad that the community at large is taking the time to recognize the commitment that comes from not only the deployed members, but the families that support them as well!

Wife a 1RCR soldier curently serving in Afghanistan
Joanne, you are right. I believe the soldiers at the game were from CFB Trenton. That was so nice that the team had recognized the Forces.
Thanks for the info regarding the Senators. I never knew. I have posted the information in the following blog.
My son is one of the hundreds who have been deployed out of CFB Petawawa to Afghanistan.
My thoughts and prayers are with them all.
Keep well Joanne.

I noticed that you have added lots of new info. I think that this is a great site, showing that there are more people than just a 'spouse' supporting these men and women overseas.
I hope that you have some one that can keep you connected with the goings on in Petawawa, as there are many upcoming events to help us ALL prepare from these brave individuals when they return home in February and March. I know that you are several hours from Petawawa by car, but there may be something that sparks your interest......
